The Road Less Traveled
As we turned off the wide path leading into the park, we found a much more narrow path full of brambles. It was great.
Racygirls at a Trail Race
Dori, Michelle, me, Vinette, and Lisa met on Thursday night for the Northwest Trail Runs Solstice Race at Soaring Eagle Park in Samamish. It was a beautiful evening! Roy did the timing as a volunteer, so I got to run for free.

Mile 26 and still smiling!
Oh yeah, everything hurt except I think my hair and fingertips. But everything else pretty much was done. But I was still smiling!
And we're off!
It took a full 6 minutes to get to the start line! We're almost there at this point. The balloon arch is up ahead. I think it was still a few minutes past the mats before we could really run, and three miles until we could run at pace.
Nervous Nellie!
Here I am before the race waiting to go into the corral. I was SO nervous for some reason.
My parents
They came to watch me run! So did my my brother, Craig, and Richie. It was nice having them there...although I don't think they knew what to expect and that I'd be so preoccupied.
John Bingham at the Expo
He is SO funny, and sure makes you feel like you're a winner even if you're a seven hour marathoner. Seriously, he makes anyone feel like they could run a marathon...and probably should!
Shopping at the expo
Do I want the black or the green? I went with the green, which matched my yellow and green running skirt perfectly. Also wore a yellow hat. That was nice because I was easy for Roy and family to pick out as I ran. Lots of purple and teal TnT runners so I was glad I didn't wear purple!
Rock and Roll Expo
Saturday June 2 was the Rock and Roll Marathon expo. Here I have just picked up my number and am heading over to get my goodie bag.

Me and JB
Roy suggested I build a running penguin at Build a Bear last night. I named her JB Speedy Waddles after both Joan Benoit and John The Penguin Bingham to remind me to go for my goals, but enjoy the journey as I waddle on.
